Review: Prolight+Sound/Music Fair from April, 11th to April, 14th 2018 in Frankfurt am Main

With around 90,000 visitors from 152 countries, the Prolight+Sound/Music Fair convinced this year once again. Numerous companies used the event to present their innovations to an international audience. Sachsenkabel presented the innovations from the fast.LANE® product range for broadcast, event technology and content delivery.

The focus of the trade fair appearance was the specially designed 12-fold Eurolens Expanded Beam connector for use in harsh environments. This connector offers 12 fiber channels and allows the connection of several single units over a central twelve-fiber optic line.

As another innovation Sachsenkabel presented pre-assembled cable lines and cable drums with the SMPTE-conform LEMO-connectors of the 3K.93.C series. These connectors are suitable for both: studio installations and outdoor use. Sachsenkabel is one of just three certified manufacturers of LEMO-connectors in the German market.

Furthermore, the numerous stand visitors experienced how an active fiber transmission line is led to a screen from the camera through a water basin, in order to simulate a harsh environment and demonstrate the protection class IP 67.
